Contemplating Poetry   1 comment

I have been reading

a variety of verses

called poetry.

There are many different forms,

and many different views

on what are called

poems.

Some are light and airy.

Some are heavy;

pulling

you

down.

Some are visceral,

gritty imaginings

of someone’s real,

and sometimes

unreal,

themes.

We are voyeurs of creation

peeking into an abyss

of dark and light

swirled onto paper

for a show.

Do we dare to object?

or imagine that we know

better than another

what is real?

or good?

or evil?

Yes.

for we are each

Creators;

borrowing from what is already,

and creating anew

another field,

another place,

another existence.
